Laken Tomlinson Nfl Player Signing

HOUSTON, Texas — The Houston Texans have agreed to terms with veteran guard Laken Tomlinson on a one-year contract worth $4.25 million, which could increase to $5 million with performance incentives. This signing comes in an effort to strengthen the team’s offensive line ahead of the 2025 NFL season.

At 33 years old, Tomlinson brings a wealth of experience to Houston, having played 163 games and making 155 starts throughout his career. His addition is considered a significant step as the Texans seek to improve their offensive strategy, particularly on the interior line.

According to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo, this contract is designed to bolster the Texans’ overall line performance amid a reshuffling of their roster. “Laken brings not only experience but also a solid track record of performance,” Garafolo stated. “He’ll be expected to contribute immediately as a first-team option.”

Tomlinson, a first-round draft pick from Duke in 2015, originally played for the Detroit Lions before being traded to the San Francisco 49ers in 2017. He signed a lucrative three-year extension with the 49ers after playing out his rookie deal. He later joined the New York Jets but was released last offseason, which led him to a one-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

In the 2024 season, Tomlinson started all 17 games for Seattle, showcasing his reliability and endurance. His consistent performance and versatility have made him an appealing option for the Texans, who aim to enhance their offensive line after trading away two previous offensive linemen this offseason.

The Texans are hopeful that Tomlinson will bring stability and leadership to their line as they prepare for the upcoming season. Fans are eager to see how he will fit into the Texans’ offensive scheme as they approach the 2025 NFL campaign.
