Texas A&m Football Team Ranking

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Texas A&M remains a force in college football, holding on to the No. 3 ranking in the latest College Football Playoff projections released Tuesday. The Aggies (9-0, 6-0 SEC) are trailing only top-ranked Ohio State and No. 2 Indiana.

This week’s rankings indicate Texas A&M would receive a first-round bye if the playoffs started today, with a potential matchup against either Texas Tech or Miami in the second round. With three games still to play in the regular season, the Aggies are poised to make a deep run in the playoffs.

A&M will return to Kyle Field this Saturday to face South Carolina (3-6, 1-6), after completing a three-game road stretch. “It feels good to be back home and we are focused on finishing strong,” Aggies coach Jimbo Fisher stated during a press conference.

In the current 12-team playoff structure, the top five highest-ranked conference champions secure automatic bids, with the next seven highest-ranked teams filling the remaining slots. As of now, the top four ranked teams will also enjoy a first-round bye, a change from last year’s format.

In the latest polls, alongside A&M, you have Ohio State (9-0) and Indiana (10-0) in the top two spots, followed closely by Alabama (8-1) and Georgia (8-1). With numerous strong teams in the SEC, A&M is the only undefeated squad in its conference.

The Aggies will also host Samford in Week 13, culminating the regular season with an anticipated showdown against Texas. Fans are eager to see how far this talented team can go in the playoffs.
