The 2024 Texas high school football playoffs kicked off on November 14, marking the beginning of a six-week postseason journey. Here are some of the notable scores and highlights from the first round of the playoffs.

In Class 6A Division I, several teams made strong statements. Midland Legacy dominated El Paso Franklin with a 56-14 victory, while Cypress Falls shut out Houston Bellaire 52-0. Fort Bend Ridge Point secured a 49-16 win over Pasadena Dobie, and Galena Park North Shore overwhelmed Deer Park 56-13. In Region 4, San Antonio Johnson defeated San Antonio Taft 47-7[4][5].

In Class 6A Division II, Lewisville Hebron beat Prosper Rock Hill 48-16 in Region 1. DeSoto had a convincing 63-6 win over Killeen Shoemaker in Region 2. In Region 3, Katy Jordan edged Richmond Foster 22-14, and Manvel took down Fort Bend Hightower 23-15. Cibolo Steele and PSJA also had significant wins in Region 4, defeating Laredo Alexander 56-14 and Harlingen 55-28, respectively[4].

Class 5A saw several high-scoring games. In Division I, Lubbock Monterey routed El Paso Bel Air 63-0, and Denton Ryan crushed Fort Worth Paschal 77-14. Frisco Lone Star dominated Dallas White 59-7 in Region 2. In Division II, El Paso Del Valle won against Abilene Cooper 63-35, and South Oak Cliff defeated Terrell 52-14[4].

In Class 4A Division I, Lampasas defeated Pecos 53-14, and Canyon Randall had a strong 71-27 win over El Paso Ysleta. Springtown and Alvarado also secured significant victories in Region 2, beating River Oaks Castleberry 52-16 and Fort Worth Eastern Hills 76-12, respectively[4].

Class 3A Division I saw Shallowater shut out Brownfield 63-0, and Peaster narrowly beat Comanche 33-30. In Region 2, Texarkana Liberty-Eylau won against Commerce 57-35, and Malakoff dominated Tatum 62-13[4].
