Texas Rangers Pitching Rotation 2025

ARLINGTON, Texas — The Texas Rangers have transformed their pitching rotation this season, moving from a struggling unit to one of the strongest in Major League Baseball. This change has come during a crucial time as the team looks to establish itself as a legitimate contender.

In recent years, teams like the Tampa Bay Rays, Atlanta Braves, and Houston Astros have been known for their ability to develop top-notch pitching talent. However, the Rangers have made significant strides under the guidance of pitching coach Mike Maddux.

The difference in the Rangers’ performance is stark when compared to the 2024 season. Last year, the rotation combined for only 70 2/3 innings among its four starters, with Nathan Eovaldi being the only pitcher to exceed 100 innings. However, this year, those same pitchers have already logged 141 innings.

The team’s ERA has also seen a tremendous improvement, dropping from 4.35 last season to 3.00 in 2025, which ranks third in the league behind the Kansas City Royals and New York Mets. Despite some struggles, like Kumar Rocker‘s 8.10 ERA and Jack Leiter‘s 4.34, the overall performance is noteworthy.

Adding veteran Patrick Corbin to the roster has also made a noticeable impact. Corbin, who struggled with a 5.62 ERA over the past five seasons, has begun the season with a respectable 3.35 ERA across his first seven starts.

Pitching coach Mike Maddux is credited for orchestrating this turnaround, leading the unit to one of its best performances this decade. As the season progresses, the Rangers aim to maintain their momentum and solidify their place in the playoff race.
