Oklahoma City Thunder Vs. Houston Rockets Game

HOUSTON, Texas – The Oklahoma City Thunder will attempt to extend their winning streak to 12 games tonight as they face the Houston Rockets at Toyota Center. A victory would mark the franchise’s 65th win of the season, breaking the previous record of 64 wins set by the 1995-96 Seattle SuperSonics.

The Thunder currently lead the season series against the Rockets 3-1, as both teams find themselves in strong form as the regular season nears its conclusion. The Thunder are 20-2 in their last 22 games, while the Rockets have claimed 13 of their last 15 contests.

In their last matchup, the Thunder defeated the Rockets 137-128, fueled by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander‘s season-high 51 points. This marks the fourth time this season that the league’s leading scorer has surpassed the 50-point mark. Jalen Williams added 24 points in the victory.

Despite outstanding performances from Houston’s Cam Whitmore and Reed Sheppard, the Rockets struggled without several key players, including Alperen Sengun and Fred VanVleet. Houston took a brief lead but could not maintain it, with the Thunder’s resilience allowing them to dominate in the second half.

As the Thunder pursue the top seed in the NBA playoffs, they currently hold a three-game advantage over the Cleveland Cavaliers for home-court advantage throughout the postseason. With remaining games against playoff contenders Phoenix, New Orleans, and Utah, the Thunder’s quest for a record-breaking season continues.

The Rockets, on the other hand, are currently in contention for the second seed in the Western Conference and will also be facing formidable opponents including the Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Lakers, and Denver Nuggets in their final stretch.

Both teams are dealing with injuries. The Thunder will be without Nikola Topic (knee) and have several players listed as questionable, including Ousmane Dieng (calf) and Alex Ducas (quad). The Rockets will miss Dillon Brooks due to a league suspension and Fred VanVleet (ankle) is also uncertain for tonight’s game.

The Thunder’s impressive road record of 29-7, combined with their recent performances, has them favored by 6.5 points heading into this contest.

The match is scheduled to tip off at 7:00 PM CT. For those unable to attend, the game will be broadcasted on ESPN and FanDuel Sports Oklahoma.
