Thunder Crush Kings 121-105 for Seventh Straight Win

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 32 points to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a commanding 121-105 victory over the Sacramento Kings on Tuesday night. The win marked the Thunder’s seventh consecutive victory and brought their season total to 60, making them the first team in the NBA to reach that milestone this season.
In addition to Gilgeous-Alexander’s stellar performance, Chet Holmgren contributed 18 points and 10 rebounds, while Alex Caruso added 15 points. This victory marked the Thunder’s 14th win in their last 15 games, further solidifying their position at the top of the league.
The Kings, led by Keegan Murray‘s 28 points including nine three-pointers, struggled to maintain momentum after a brief comeback attempt. Zach LaVine added 19 points; however, Sacramento dropped their fourth straight game, putting their playoff aspirations in jeopardy.
The Thunder exploded in the first half with a 24-point lead, dominating both offensively and defensively. Despite a 16-point run by the Kings early in the third quarter that narrowed the deficit to just six points, they could not sustain the momentum. Oklahoma City outscored Sacramento decisively in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
Oklahoma City’s remarkable performance also set a franchise milestone, equaling the 2012-13 team’s 60 wins. The franchise record remains 64 wins, set during the 1995-96 season.
Sacramento’s struggles deepened as they fell to 2-4 in a seven-game homestand, now tied with Phoenix for ninth place in the Western Conference with only a half-game lead over Dallas for the final play-in spot.
The Thunder’s shooting was particularly noteworthy, as they converted 12 of 21 attempts from beyond the arc in the first half. Eight different players made at least one three-pointer.
The Kings are set to finish their homestand against the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday, while the Thunder will return home to face the Memphis Grizzlies on the same night.
