Keith Thurman Boxing Match

Sydney, Australia — Former unified welterweight champion Keith Thurman will make his long-awaited return to the ring against Australian boxer Brock Jarvis on March 12, 2025. The ten-round bout will take place at the Hordern Pavilion and is being billed as an opportunity for Thurman to prove he is back in top form after a lengthy hiatus due to injury.

Fans in Australia can watch the fight live, available via pay-per-view on Foxtel’s Main Event, while those in the United States will have to wait for the delayed stream on Premier Boxing Champions‘ YouTube channel, set to begin at 9 a.m. ET. Thurman and Jarvis are expected to enter the ring at 6 a.m. ET.

Thurman, 36, has not fought since a unanimous decision victory over Mario Barrios in 2022, raising concerns about his readiness and skill level after a series of injuries that sidelined him for years. “Brock Jarvis is a sturdy guy—rough and tough, an inside fighter—but he’s been sheltered on his island, in his little bubble,” Thurman said in a press release. “I’m coming to pop that bubble… To me, he looks like somebody who knows how to go for the win, but has he really been swimming out there with the sharks? It doesn’t look like it to me.”

Jarvis, 22-1 with 20 knockouts, is hoping to redeem himself after suffering a first-round knockout loss to Liam Paro in his only fight against a notable opponent. He expressed eagerness to show that he is ready for this challenge. “I was super excited to get this opportunity, and I’m really looking forward to this one. If he thinks he’s coming here for a tune-up fight, then he’s got the wrong mindset, and I’m gonna expose that on fight night,” Jarvis stated.

Shawn Porter, a retired boxer and analyst, has weighed in on the matchup, calling it a “60-40” fight in favor of Thurman. Porter believes that Thurman’s experience and skill set give him the advantage, despite the extended gap in his fight history. He cautioned, however, that Jarvis may need to adopt a more aggressive approach to succeed. “Keith can control the range, the distance, the rhythm, speed, and tempo. Brock has got to put it on him and really push his heart rate,” Porter added.

The stakes are high for both fighters as Thurman attempts to re-establish himself in a competitive welterweight division, while Jarvis looks to make a name for himself after a rocky start in his professional career. The excitement builds as the boxing world anticipates their clash, with implications that may resonate well beyond the ring.
