Detroit Tigers Vs Los Angeles Angels Baseball

ANAHEIM, California – The Detroit Tigers secured a win against the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night, kicking off the second leg of their 10-game road trip with a 5-2 victory. Dillon Dingler and Gleyber Torres led the offense, while pitcher Casey Mize celebrated his 28th birthday by earning his fifth win of the season.

The Tigers have three more games remaining in this series, with the next matchup scheduled for Friday night at 9:38 p.m. ET at Angel Stadium.

The starting lineup for this game features Detroit’s reigning American League Cy Young Award winner, Tarik Skubal, who has a record of 3-2 with a 2.34 ERA. Skubal will face the Angels’ José Soriano, who is 2-4 with a 4.50 ERA.

In his last outing, Skubal showcased his talents by throwing six scoreless innings against the Chicago White Sox, allowing only four hits and striking out a season-high 11 batters. Prior to that, he had two consecutive quality starts, resulting in a no-decision.

Meanwhile, Soriano’s recent performance has been less impressive; he struggled against the Tigers, giving up four runs (three earned) in his last start over five innings, along with five hits and one walk.

Both teams are eager to notch another victory as they continue their series. Skubal aims to build on his last performance while Soriano will look to rebound in front of the home crowd.
