Timberwolves Basketball Team Meeting

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. — Donte DiVincenzo, a guard for the Minnesota Timberwolves, praised his teammate Mike Conley, emphasizing his adaptability and importance ahead of the NBA playoffs. DiVincenzo, who joined the Timberwolves in a trade for Karl-Anthony Towns, has averaged over 11 points per game and a sharp 39.5% shooting from beyond the arc in recent weeks.

The Timberwolves, who have surged since the All-Star break, recently enjoyed an eight-game winning streak, bolstered by improved performances from DiVincenzo and his teammates.

Appearing on “The Young Man and the Three” podcast, DiVincenzo lauded Conley, stating, “He’s a great player, I mean, a great person … when you’re getting both and you don’t have to deal with anything outside, there’s no nonsense, and you love being around him.”

At 37 years old and in his 18th season, Conley remains a pivotal part of the Timberwolves’ offense, shooting efficiently at 41.9% from three-point range.

Reflecting on Conley’s influence, DiVincenzo noted, “He settles everybody down … if you put Mike out there, everything’s like, alright, we have a sense of calmness out here. He’s seen everything; he reads the game perfectly.”

As of now, the Timberwolves sit eighth in the Western Conference, currently contending for a playoff spot with only 11 games left in the season. Following a disappointing season after their run to the Western Conference Finals last year, the team aims to regroup and capitalize on the remaining opportunities.

Young stars Anthony Edwards and Julius Randle have showcased their talents in recent games, but DiVincenzo’s performances will be crucial as the Timberwolves attempt to climb back into a secure playoff position.

The Timberwolves are in a competitive race for a top-six finish in the West, vying against the Golden State Warriors and LA Clippers. With his experience in high-pressure games, DiVincenzo is expected to step up, providing both scoring and defensive prowess when it matters most.

As the regular season approaches its end, the Timberwolves will look to harness DiVincenzo’s skills on both ends of the court. Anything short of peak performance could lead to a participation in the challenging play-in competition.
