Timberwolves Game Action March 2025

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — The Minnesota Timberwolves secured their fifth consecutive victory, defeating the San Antonio Spurs 141-124 on Sunday night at Target Center. Leading the charge was Anthony Edwards, who scored 25 points on 10-for-15 shooting, contributing to the Timberwolves’ highest score of the season.

Rudy Gobert added impressive stats as well, finishing with 20 points and seven rebounds. Mike Conley recorded a double-double with 14 points and 10 assists, along with seven rebounds, to help push Minnesota’s record to 37-29. The team’s performance allowed them to reach a season-high eight games above .500 for the first time this year.

The Timberwolves showcased their depth with eight players scoring in double digits. Jaden McDaniels also made a significant impact, coming off the bench to add 16 points and eight rebounds in just 20 minutes of play.

Furthermore, the Timberwolves matched their season best with 38 assists and demonstrated their 3-point shooting prowess, making 21 out of 42 attempts. Their efforts included a remarkable third quarter where they scored 41 points, highlighting a pivotal moment that culminated with a buzzer-beater 3-pointer by Nickeil Alexander-Walker for a 109-94 lead.

“We really moved the ball well and found each other,” Edwards said post-game. “That’s a good sign for us as we look to build on this momentum.”

For the Spurs, who fell to 26-36 with the loss, Devin Vassell led the scoring with 22 points on 8-for-12 shooting. Keldon Johnson added 20 points, but the team has now lost 7 of their last 10 games, continuing to struggle without star center Zach Collins, sidelined due to a blood clot in his shoulder.

“We’ve got to find a way to stay competitive during this stretch without Zach,” Vassell said. “It’s tough, but we are working hard and learning.”

Despite their recent improvements, all five teams the Timberwolves have defeated during this winning streak possess losing records. This trend could present challenges as they prepare for their next match against playoff contenders.

The Timberwolves will face the Denver Nuggets for their next game on Wednesday, while the Spurs will host the Dallas Mavericks on Monday.
