Naz Reid Minnesota Timberwolves Basketball Game

PHOENIX, Ariz. — The Minnesota Timberwolves will be without reigning Sixth Man of the Year Naz Reid for Wednesday night’s game against the Phoenix Suns at the Footprint Center due to illness, head coach Chris Finch confirmed pregame. This marks the first game Reid has missed this season, dealing a blow to the Timberwolves’ rotation.

Reid, who averages 13.6 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game, is a key contributor off the bench. His absence could open up minutes for backup center Luka Garza. Meanwhile, rookie Rob Dillingham, who was also questionable with illness, has been cleared to play. Dillingham has emerged as a rotational piece in recent weeks, averaging 5.0 points and 1.8 assists this season.

On the Suns’ side, Kevin Durant, who was a game-time decision with a thumb injury, is available. Durant, the NBA’s fifth-leading scorer at 27.1 points per game, will be a focal point for Phoenix. Ryan Dunn, who was questionable with an ankle injury, is also available.

The Timberwolves enter the game on a three-game winning streak, including a 100-92 victory over the Atlanta Hawks. Anthony Edwards led the charge with 23 points, while Julius Randle and Rudy Gobert combined for 38 points. However, Minnesota’s injury list continues to grow, with Donte DiVincenzo sidelined due to turf toe and Terrence Shannon Jr. out with a mid-foot sprain.

Finch will need to rely on his starters, including Edwards, Randle, and Gobert, to maintain momentum. The Timberwolves have won their last five matchups against the Suns, but Phoenix, coming off a strong win against the Los Angeles Clippers, poses a tough challenge.

Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m. local time in Phoenix.
