Timberwolves Secure Key Roster Moves Ahead of Stretch Run

Minnesota, MN – The Minnesota Timberwolves have made significant roster adjustments as they prepare for the final push of the season. On Wednesday, the team agreed to a fully guaranteed, two-year contract with swingman Jaden Clark, who has shown impressive performance over the past month, and plans to sign point guard Bones Hyland to a two-way deal.
Clark, a 6-foot-4 player, has been instrumental for the Timberwolves since his inclusion in the rotation on January 29. According to his agent Todd Ramasar of Life Sports Agency, Clark averaged 6.9 points and 1.7 rebounds in 11 games during February, shooting an impressive 47.4% from the field and 44% from three-point range.
“Jaden has proven his worth on the court with his energy and defense,” said Coach Chris Finch. “We’re excited to have him officially as part of our roster.” Clark’s recent performances include three games scoring in double figures with totals of 17, 14, and 11 points.
Defensively, Clark has made a notable impact, limiting opponents to 41% shooting while contesting shots this season. He has faced key players in matchups, defending against tough competition consistently.
Clark, a second-round pick for the Timberwolves in the 2023 draft, rebounded from a torn Achilles tendon that sidelined him for the entire 2023-24 season, marking a remarkable return to form for the young athlete.
Bones Hyland, 24, brings a wealth of experience, now entering his fourth season in the NBA. Averaging 7.2 points per game with a career-high 39% accuracy from the three-point line in limited minutes, he will add depth to the Timberwolves’ backcourt. Hyland’s recent journey saw him transition from the Denver Nuggets to the Los Angeles Clippers before reuniting with Timberwolves president Tim Connelly, who originally drafted him 26th overall in 2021.
Hyland has showcased his potential, ranking among the top five in steals per 36 minutes this season, underscoring his defensive capabilities. He has consistently averaged 17.7 points in games where he has played at least 20 minutes, indicating his scoring ability when given the opportunity.
As the Timberwolves approach the stretch run of the season, these moves reflect a focused strategy to enhance team performance and deepen the roster.
