Titans Linebacker Denico Autry Granted Trade Permission Amid Offseason Shakeup

NASHVILLE, Tenn. — The Tennessee Titans have granted former Pro Bowl linebacker Denico Autry permission to seek a trade, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday. This decision comes as the Titans are poised for a significant offseason following a disappointing 3-14 record that earned them the No. 1 pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
Autry finished last season as the Titans’ defensive leader, compiling a total of 71 tackles and nine sacks over the course of 17 games. His performance also included 18 quarterback pressures and four pass deflections, showcasing his impact on the field even in a challenging year for the team.
At 28 years old, Autry is entering the 2025 season with a base salary of $17.5 million. Since being selected by the Titans in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, he has tallied 50.5 career sacks. His standout year came in 2021 when he reached a personal best of 12 sacks, earning his first Pro Bowl selection.
The linebacker’s future in Tennessee became uncertain after he missed the entire 2022 season due to an ACL tear in his right knee sustained in September. Now, his ability to explore trade options may provide him with fresh opportunities, potentially with a more competitive franchise.
As the offseason unfolds, teams across the league will no doubt keep an eye on Autry’s situation, looking to bolster their defenses with an experienced and talented player.
