Titans Scout Top NFL Draft Prospects at Colorado’s Pro Day

Boulder, Colorado – The excitement surrounding this year’s NFL Draft intensifies as the Tennessee Titans, including their General Manager Mike Borgonzi and President of Football Operations Chad Brinker, made their presence known at the University of Colorado’s Pro Day on April 4. This event marked a significant opportunity for the Titans to evaluate standout prospects, particularly quarterback Shedeur Sanders and dual-threat athlete Travis Hunter.
With the Titans holding the first overall pick, Brinker acknowledged the team’s meticulously disciplined strategy for team building. He stated, “We are going to go through the whole thing, and I think probably here in two weeks we’re going to have a good idea of where things are headed,” emphasizing a careful approach before making any decisions.
Sanders, who gained attention for his performance last season, is expected to throw during a scripted session, while Hunter, the reigning Heisman Trophy winner, will showcase his skills on both offense and defense. Although Hunter is not projected to participate in extensive workouts, his past performance has already established a strong reputation among NFL teams.
The Titans recently dined with Sanders and Hunter, and owner Jimmy Haslam, General Manager Andrew Berry, and head coach Kevin Stefanski were among those attending the dinner. This close attention reflects the Titans’ serious interest in evaluating both players as possible additions to their roster.
Notably, the New York Giants will also be watching closely as they hold the third overall pick. Giants General Manager Joe Schoen and a multitude of scouts will observe the Pro Day with the potential aim to select either Sanders or Hunter, highlighting the stakes involved for multiple franchises.
Brinker commented on the Titans’ previous engagements with other prospects, including Miami quarterback Cam Ward, which included attending his Pro Day and conducting private workouts. He expressed satisfaction with Ward’s performance, noting, “It was good to communicate with him, see how he communicates. And get an even better for what it’s like to coach this player.”
He elaborated further on Ward’s attributes, mentioning his “rapid release” and impressive arm strength. “I think everybody was very impressed with how he threw the football,” he added, signifying that Ward is also a top consideration for the Titans.
This coming week, the Titans are set to return to Colorado for further evaluations of Sanders and Hunter. According to Brinker, the team acknowledges Hunter’s unique versatility—highlighting his success as both a wide receiver and cornerback. “He is a special talent. Whether he plays receiver or DB or both in the NFL, this guy is going to be successful,” Brinker stated.
The draft approaches as a multifaceted decision for the Titans, and with other prospects under consideration, including Penn State edge rusher Abdul Carter, Brinker reassured fans that the organization will remain thorough. Carter, who missed workouts due to an injury, remains on their radar as an exciting talent capable of making a substantial impact in the NFL.
As the NFL Draft nears, teams across the league continue to explore the potential of elevating their rosters through strategic selections. The Titans’ approach epitomizes the balance of thorough preparation and the pursuit of immediate talent as they weigh their options.
