Titans Seek Seahawks’ Matt Berry for GM Role After Firing Ran Carthon

Matt Berry Seattle Seahawks Front Office

The Tennessee Titans have requested to interview Seattle Seahawks Senior Director of Player Personnel Matt Berry for their vacant general manager position, according to a report by NFL insider Jonathan Jones of CBS. The move comes after the Titans fired GM Ran Carthon earlier this week following a disappointing 2024 season that left the team out of playoff contention.

Berry, who joined the Seahawks in 2008 as a regional scout, has risen through the ranks to become a key figure in Seattle’s front office. He was promoted to Senior Director of Player Personnel nearly two years ago, overseeing both college and pro scouting operations. His tenure has included significant contributions to the Seahawks’ draft and free agency strategies, though recent signings have drawn criticism from some fans.

Meanwhile, former Atlanta Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff is also reportedly in the mix for the Titans’ GM job. Dimitroff, who has been out of the NFL since 2020, is currently involved with SumerSports, a football analytics company. During his time with the Falcons, Dimitroff built rosters that reached the playoffs six times, including a Super Bowl appearance in 2017 that ended in a historic collapse.

The Titans are conducting a thorough search for their next GM, with initial interviews expected to be held virtually due to a severe winter storm in Nashville. In-person interviews could begin next week if weather conditions improve. Berry and Dimitroff are among at least seven candidates being considered for the role.
