The Gold Coast Titans secured their third consecutive victory, outplaying the Parramatta Eels with a 24-16 win at Cbus Super Stadium. Missing their star halfback Mitchell Moses, the Eels faced a formidable Titans side that welcomed back marquee man AJ Brimson from injury.

Under the guidance of coach Des Hasler, the Titans wasted no time in dominating the game, with winger Alofiana Khan-Pereira scoring twice in the opening 12 minutes. His tries were set up brilliantly by the playmaking skills of Jayden Campbell, showcasing a well-coordinated attack on the left wing.

The Titans extended their lead with a try from Phillip Sami, capitalizing on a strong run from David Fifita. Sami not only crossed the try line but also mimicked Eels fullback Clint Gutherson‘s signature try celebration, adding flair to the match.

Despite a mistake from Brimson, leading to an Eels try courtesy of Blaize Talagi and Luca Moretti, the Titans finished the first half with a commanding 18-6 lead.

In the second half, Brian Kelly capitalized on Campbell’s kicking precision to score, further solidifying the Titans’ advantage. The Eels fought back through Will Penisini and Gutherson, narrowing the scoreline with impressive tries.

As both teams faced injuries, with David Fifita and Will Penisini undergoing HIA protocols, the Titans remained resilient. Khan-Pereira missed out on a potential hat-trick, showcasing the Eels’ defensive efforts, particularly by Dylan Brown with a try-saving tackle.

Yvonne Sampson noted the Titans’ positive trajectory under Hasler’s leadership, signaling a promising future for the Gold Coast team.
