Liga Mx Scoring Leaders April 2025

GUADALAJARA, Mexico — With only three matches remaining in the Liga MX Clausura 2025, the race for the top scorer title is intensifying. Daniel Osorno, Robert de Pinho, Matías Alustiza, and Julián Quiñones have all been strong contenders, but Diber Cambindo currently leads the pack with 11 goals despite being sidelined by an injury.

Uros Durdevic, nicknamed ‘Djuka,’ an impressive performer for Atlas, stands second with 10 goals and could overtake Cambindo with a strong finish in the remaining matches. He will have his chance to make a significant impact as he faces Paulinho of Toluca, another contender, this Saturday at Estadio Jalisco. ‘Djuka’ seeks to become the first Atlas player to win the top scorer title in the club’s history.

Paulinho, the reigning top scorer who also has nine goals this season, is eyeing a second consecutive title. His ability to consolidate his position among greats like Iván Alonso, Héctor Mancilla, and José Saturnino Cardozo depends on remaining consistent in the final matches.

“We’re focused on the game, we want the three points against Atlas,” said Juan Pablo Domínguez of Toluca, emphasizing their preparation and strategy. “It’s important not to underestimate our opponents even in their current position.”

On the other hand, Alexis Vega, also representing Toluca with nine goals this season, aims to become the first Mexican player to win the top scorer title for the club. Having scored six past Atlas previously, Vega is familiar with their defensive setup and will be looking to exploit any weaknesses.

“We want to end the season strong,” Vega stated. “Our goal is not only the title but to secure a leading position entering Liguilla.”

Meanwhile, Diber Cambindo, who sustained a cranial injury in Jornada 12 against León, is now under pressure as his lead has dwindled significantly. Missing key fixtures has hampered his chances of retaining the lead. “I hope to come back and help my team,” Cambindo shared, remaining hopeful despite his current situation.

Atlas currently sits 16th in the relegation table, facing a potential $33 million penalty if they finish in the bottom three. Coach Gonzalo Pineda and his team will need a flawless finish against Querétaro and others to improve their standings.

Historically, Atlas has faced relegation worries before, particularly in Clausura 2021 when they turned their fortune around. Under coach Diego Cocca, they lifted themselves from the bottom of the standings, ultimately securing their first league title in 70 years by winning the Apertura 2021, followed by securing back-to-back titles in 2022.

As the league descends into the final weeks, all eyes will be on these top scorers and their quest not only for personal accolades but also for their teams’ overall success.
