Tnt Roland Garros Tennis Coverage

PARIS, France — TNT is set to transform the coverage of Roland Garros starting this Sunday with a 10-year, $650 million deal. The new partnership means fans can expect more than 900 matches to air between TNT, TruTV, and Max.

Marquee matches will be featured on TNT, while TruTV will debut a new whiparound show called The Rally at Roland-Garros, providing fans with a comprehensive look at the tournament’s action. With every court streaming on Max, viewers can keep up with all the matches in real-time.

Renowned analysts such as John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, and Sloane Stephens will join the coverage to enhance the viewer experience. “TNT is open-minded as a network and interested in new ways to approach the game,” said Jim Courier during a recent press call.

The whiparound format introduced by TNT aims to alleviate the pressure from the main feed, giving viewers a more focused look at individual matches. According to Craig Barry, TNT Sports EVP, this allows for a less chaotic viewing experience. “We want to bring the energy to the venue,” he added.

Barry also mentioned the possibility of featuring younger commentators like Sloane Stephens, who might interact with players during interviews on the court. This innovative approach seeks to engage better with fans, creating a fun atmosphere during matches.

Chris Eubanks expressed excitement about TNT’s takeover after witnessing their NBA coverage. “They sound so excited about tennis, which is really cool,” he remarked.

As the tournament progresses, TruTV will predominantly cover single matches, making use of extra cameras on Roland Garros’ main courts to provide viewers with an enhanced viewing experience. This will ensure more focus on American players throughout the tournament.

In addition to these coverage changes, fans can look forward to compelling matchups. Notably, Jannik Sinner is the No. 1 seed on the men’s side, while Aryna Sabalenka leads the women’s bracket. As the competition heats up, excitement builds for the first French Open since Rafael Nadal’s retirement. McEnroe stated, “It’s a fresh generation, and we need to market ourselves better.”
