TOLEDO, Ohio – The Toledo Walleye are set to compete in the Kelly Cup Finals, with fans believing this might be the year they secure their first championship. Many supporters gathered hours before the game at Hensville Park to showcase their Toledo Walleye spirit and celebrate their team’s return to the finals.

“We are overdue to win it all, we are way overdue to win it all. It’s good to see the excitement. I feel like there’s a little more energy this go-around,” said April Doran, a Walleye fan.

Attendees at the park expressed confidence in their team, with fan Bill Forche stating, “This is a good team. Intense, unbelievable, insane; they fight to the finish.”

Thousands filled the Huntington Center, energized and ready to see the Walleye compete against the Trois-Rivières Lions. The Walleye started strong, defeating the Lions 3-1 in Game 1, gaining an early lead in the series.

Game 2 is scheduled for Monday, June 2, at 7:15 p.m. For those without tickets, Fifth Third Field is hosting a free watch party for fans who want to join in on the excitement.
