Tom Aspinall Criticizing Jon Jones Vs Stipe Miocic Ufc 309

Tom Aspinall, the interim UFC heavyweight champion, has voiced strong criticism regarding the upcoming title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. Aspinall questions the legitimacy of this bout, labeling it as the “most disputed title you can possibly get.”

Aspinall’s discontent stems from the fact that he believes he should be the one facing Jones for the undisputed heavyweight title. Instead, Jones is set to defend his belt against 42-year-old Stipe Miocic at Madison Square Garden in New York on Saturday. Aspinall argued that Jones is avoiding him and instead choosing to fight an older opponent, which he finds unusual and lacking in public interest.

Jones has been clear about his lack of interest in facing Aspinall, dismissing Aspinall’s resume by stating that he has not beaten any champions. Aspinall responded to these comments, accusing Jones of “ducking and diving” and suggesting that Jones’s reluctance to fight him indicates a fear of losing.

The tension between Aspinall and Jones has been further highlighted by other UFC fighters. Damon Jackson, for instance, suggested that Aspinall’s constant complaints about not getting the fight against Jones make him appear petty and whiny. Jackson emphasized that if Jones wanted to fight Aspinall, he would, and that Aspinall’s public campaigning is not effective.

Despite the controversy, Aspinall remains determined to become the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion. He awaits the winner of the Jones vs. Miocic fight for a potential title unification bout, although Jones’s future plans beyond UFC 309 remain uncertain.
