Tony Romo Weighs in on Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift’s Relationship

Kansas City, MO – Former Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo believes that Travis Kelce‘s relationship with pop star Taylor Swift is beneficial for the NFL player both personally and professionally. In an exclusive interview with Us Weekly, Romo shared insights on how Kelce’s life has changed since starting to date Swift in September 2023.

Romo stated, “People won’t even realize this, but he’s probably doing less than he used to when he was younger.” He pointed out that while photos of the couple dining together might suggest a busy social life, it is actually a sign of a more settled relationship. “If you get your picture taken going to dinner with your superstar girlfriend, it looks like you’re going out or something,” Romo explained.

He noted that Kelce appears to be living a quieter life compared to his younger days. “Almost as if he’s married, going to dinner with his wife or something,” Romo added. He emphasized that increased media attention does not necessarily reflect a negative change in Kelce’s lifestyle. “But the truth is that it can be a net positive if you look at it closely,” he remarked.

Romo also addressed concerns regarding Kelce’s performance during the 2024 NFL season, where he experienced career lows in touchdowns and receptions. He indicated that this season was unprecedented for Kelce, as it was the first full season that the public closely followed his relationship with Swift. “It was the first whole season being under that microscope,” Romo stated.

Romo, who knows the pressures of being a high-profile athlete dating a celebrity, encouraged trust in Kelce. “He’s a [future] Hall of Famer who has played at the highest level. He’ll figure things out real quick,” he said, adding, “I think he’s got himself a wonderful, wonderful girlfriend.”

Romo himself experienced the challenges of fame and relationships during his time in the NFL, previously dating celebrities like Jessica Simpson. Currently, he is happily married to Candice Crawford, with whom he has three sons. “Me and my wife are taxi cab drivers these days,” he joked, reflecting on his busy family life.
