Top-Ranked UCLA Women’s Basketball Faces Minnesota in Sunday Showdown

LOS ANGELES – The No. 1-ranked UCLA Bruins women’s basketball team (20-0, 8-0 B1G) will host the University of Minnesota Golden Gophers (18-4, 6-4 B1G) on Sunday, Feb. 2, at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles. Tip-off is set for 12 p.m. PT, with the game broadcast live on the Big Ten Network.

The Bruins, the last undefeated team in the nation, are off to the best start in program history. They return to Pauley Pavilion for the first time since their Jan. 1 victory over then-No. 25 Michigan (86-70). UCLA is led by star junior Lauren Betts, who averages 21 points, 9.9 rebounds, 2.8 blocks, and 2.5 assists per game on 62.1% shooting from the field.

Minnesota, meanwhile, is coming off an 82-69 loss to USC on Thursday. This will be the Golden Gophers’ first visit to Pauley Pavilion. The teams have met twice before, with UCLA holding a 2-0 series lead. Their last meeting on Dec. 20, 2013, resulted in a narrow 58-55 victory for the Bruins.
