Torino Secure 2-0 Victory Over Lecce in Serie A Clash
Raoul Bellanova and Duvan Zapata propelled Torino to a critical 2-0 victory over Lecce in a Serie A showdown. Torino, aiming to bounce back from consecutive draws, showcased strong performances in the absence of key players such as Adrien Tameze, Alessandro Buongiorno, Ricardo Rodriguez, and Perr Schuurs.
Vanja Milinkovic-Savic’s error threatened an early setback for Torino, but Roberto Piccoli’s chance was cleared off the line by Adam Masina. Ilic’s dangerous ball across goal and Zapata’s saved header kept the pressure on Lecce.
Torino seized the lead through Bellanova’s precise shot from outside the box, showcasing a swift counter-attack move that started in midfield. Lecce had opportunities to level the score, with Mohamed Kaba failing to convert a golden chance.
Lecce’s task got tougher as Pongracic received his marching orders following a second booking, reducing them to 10 men. Despite this, Lecce kept pushing, but Falcone’s heroics denied Torino a second goal initially.
However, Zapata later sealed the win for Torino with a well-placed headed goal from a corner kick. Lecce’s efforts, including a disallowed goal by Okereke due to an out-of-play situation, were in vain as Torino claimed a vital triumph.
