Tottenham’s Dominic Solanke Misses Fulham Match Due to Illness
Tottenham Hotspur fans received some reassuring news regarding the sudden absence of striker Dominic Solanke from the squad that faced Fulham on Sunday, December 1, 2024. Solanke was unexpectedly left out of the lineup after arriving at the stadium for pre-match duties but feeling unwell.
According to Tottenham journalist Alasdair Gold and midfielder James Maddison, Solanke was sent home due to his illness, prompting a last-minute change to the squad. Maddison explained to the media that Solanke “just came in today and he wasn’t looking the best. He was under the weather so we sent him home. Hopefully a full recovery and ready to go for the next one.”
This absence comes as a minor setback for Tottenham, who have been relying on Solanke as a key striker since Harry Kane‘s departure to Bayern Munich. Solanke has contributed significantly to the team with four goals and two assists in the Premier League, as well as two goals in the Europa League against Qarabag FK and Galatasaray.
Despite Solanke’s absence, Tottenham has other talented players who can fill the gap. Son Heung-min, who deputised through the middle of the pitch last season and scored 17 goals with 10 assists, is expected to play a crucial role in the match against Fulham.
Tottenham will be hoping to have Solanke back for their next match against Bournemouth on Thursday, where he will face his former side.
