Tottenham Hotspur secured a victory in their first pre-season match as they triumphed over Heart of Midlothian in Edinburgh.

The newly appointed manager, Ange Postecoglou, fielded a starting XI with some new faces including Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, while key players like Manor Solomon returned from an injury layoff. Academy product Jamie Donley also made his senior debut in the match.

The starting lineup for Tottenham Hotspur consisted of Austin in goal, Pedro Porro, Gray, Skipp, Donley, Bissouma, Maddison, Kulusevski, Johnson, Solomon, and Son. On the other hand, Hearts started with Gordon, Taylor, Oyegoke, Kent, Rowles, Devlin, Grant, Oda, Dhanda, Forrest, and Tagawa in their lineup.

The match saw moments of impressive play from both sides, with Spurs taking the lead through Johnson’s goal just before half-time. Heart of Midlothian had their opportunities as well, with Tagawa missing a chance that could have levelled the score.

The second half brought more action as both teams looked to make an impact. However, it was Spurs who managed to hold onto their lead and secure the win over Hearts in their pre-season opener.

Overall, it was a positive start to the pre-season campaign for Tottenham Hotspur, with new signings getting a chance to showcase their skills and familiar faces returning to action. The victory will serve as a confidence boost as they continue their preparations for the upcoming season.
