Dominic Solanke Tottenham Injury Training

LIVERPOOL, England — Tottenham Hotspur‘s injury woes worsened as striker Dominic Solanke was ruled out of Sunday’s Premier League clash against Everton due to a knee injury sustained in training. The setback comes as manager Ange Postecoglou grapples with a mounting injury crisis that has left the squad severely depleted.

Solanke, who joined Spurs in a £65 million move from Bournemouth last summer, tweaked his knee while attempting a shot during training on Saturday. The 27-year-old has been a key contributor this season, netting 11 goals across all competitions. His absence adds to Tottenham’s growing list of unavailable players, including Richarlison, who has been sidelined for much of the campaign.

“Dom tweaked his knee in training yesterday trying to have a shot. I am not sure the extent of it,” Postecoglou told Sky Sports ahead of the match at Goodison Park. “It’s always a blow when you lose key players, and obviously in the situation we are in, it is exemplified by the fact that we do not really have the depth to cover it.”

Tottenham’s injury crisis has been a recurring theme this season, with several first-team players, including goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and defenders Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, and Micky van de Ven, currently out of action. Midfielders Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma also picked up knocks in their previous match against Arsenal, further straining the squad’s resources.

Postecoglou acknowledged the challenges but remained pragmatic. “We have 11 fit players, and that is enough to start a game with,” he said. Despite the setbacks, the manager emphasized the need to adapt and push forward, even as the team’s recent form has suffered due to the relentless injury toll.

With Son Heung-min already overworked and few alternatives in attack, Tottenham’s depth is being tested like never before. The club’s injury crisis has coincided with a poor run of results, leaving fans and pundits alike questioning how long the team can sustain its competitive edge under such circumstances.
