Towson Vs Drexel Basketball Game 2025

TOWSON, Md. – Drexel University and Towson University will face off in a pivotal Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) men’s basketball game Saturday evening at TU Arena. The matchup, set to tip off at 6 p.m., will be broadcast live on CBS Sports Network. The game marks the 82nd meeting between the two teams, with Drexel leading the all-time series 51-30.

The Dragons enter the game with a 12-10 overall record and a 4-5 mark in CAA play. Drexel is coming off a heartbreaking double-overtime loss to Monmouth on Thursday, where six players scored in double figures. The team is led by standout players MaGee and Butler, who average 14.6 and 14.2 points per game, respectively. MaGee leads the CAA in 3-point percentage, while Butler ranks third in field-goal percentage.

Towson, meanwhile, sits atop the CAA standings with an 8-1 conference record and a seven-game winning streak. The Tigers previously defeated Drexel in overtime on Jan. 11, rallying from a six-point deficit in the final minute. Tyler Tejada leads Towson with 16.7 points per game, supported by Dylan Williamson and Nendah Tarke, who combined for 53 points in their first meeting against Drexel this season.

Drexel will look to avenge its earlier loss and improve its standing in the CAA, while Towson aims to extend its dominance in the conference. The Dragons will return to Philadelphia next week to face William & Mary and UNCW, two of the league’s top teams.

In women’s basketball, Towson’s team recently secured a 62-48 victory over Delaware, improving their record to 5-14 overall and 3-5 in CAA play. India Johnston led the Tigers with 23 points, while Anasia Staton added a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds. The team will face Delaware again on Jan. 31 at 6:30 p.m.
