Srinagar, Oct 09: Toyam Hyderabad secured a crucial victory against the Southern Superstars with a five-wicket win in a T20 cricket match held at Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar. The triumph was attributed to an all-round performance with both the bat and ball.

Upon winning the toss, Southern Superstars elected to bat first. The opening pair, Hamilton Masakadza and Martin Guptill, initiated the innings but could not establish a firm foundation. Masakadza contributed 16 runs off 15 balls, while Guptill added 23 runs from 20 balls. Captain Kedar Yadav scored 15 runs in 14 balls. Shreevats Goswami remained not out with a steady 37 runs from 39 balls, and Chirag Gandhi added 33 runs off 29 balls, bringing the team’s total to 153/5 in 20 overs, as reported by news agency NVI.

In response, Toyam Hyderabad’s bowling unit delivered a disciplined performance. Sudeep Tyagi emerged as a key bowler, securing figures of 2/22 in his 3 overs. Contributions also came from Ravi Jangid, Shadab Jakati, and Shivakant Shukla, each taking one wicket.

Chasing the target of 154 runs, Toyam Hyderabad’s openers were George Worker and Peter Trego. Though they suffered an early setback with Trego dismissed for 13 runs, Worker contributed 19 runs off 12 deliveries. Captain Gurkeerat Singh Mann stepped up, scoring 32 runs from 26 balls. Ravi Jangid played a pivotal role, remaining unbeaten with 42 runs from 48 balls, guiding his team to victory in 18.2 overs. Samiullah Shinwari also supported with an unbeaten 17 runs from 12 balls.

For the Southern Superstars, Abdur Razzak stood out among the bowlers with figures of 2/39 in his allotted 4 overs. Additional wickets were claimed by Hamid Hassan, Pawan Negi, and Kedar Jadhav, each contributing one wicket to the bowling effort.
