Tragic Farewell: Friends And Family Remember Jay Slater

This weekend, friends and family are preparing to say their final goodbyes to 19-year-old Jay Slater. A touching video has surfaced showing Jay enjoying a vibrant pool party in Ibiza, dancing and smiling among friends, a fitting reminder of his joyful spirit.

Lucy Mae Law, a close friend of Jay, shared the video on social media with the heartfelt caption ‘always dancing.’ She was the first to raise the alarm when Jay went missing after a rave in Los Cristianos on June 17.

Following his disappearance, an extensive search unfolded, with Lucy assisting rescue teams tirelessly. Sadly, Jay’s body was discovered in mid-July, and it was confirmed that he died from traumatic head injuries likely caused by a fall.

His funeral is set for August 10 at Accrington Cemetery Chapel, where family and friends are invited to wear blue in his memory. Instead of flowers, they ask attendees to donate to LBT Global, which provided support to Jay’s family during the search.

Jay is remembered not just as a vibrant young man, but also as a loving son, a cherished brother, and a loyal friend. His family shared a moving tribute, highlighting his passion for music, dance, and friendships.

In the midst of this tragedy, the community of Oswaldtwistle is coming together, promising to ‘always remember’ Jay. A memorial service has already taken place, with balloons being released to honor him.

Unfortunately, amidst the outpouring of love, there are reports of scammers attempting to exploit the situation by falsely claiming a live stream of Jay’s funeral. The charity LBT Global has urged people not to engage with this deceitful activity, emphasizing respect for Jay’s family during this difficult time.
