Travis Boak, a veteran of Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL), has extended his tenure for a 19th season after signing a one-year contract extension. The announcement came as Boak, age 36, committed to continue his career with the club he captained and for which he has received numerous accolades.

Boak expressed his enthusiasm saying, “I’m absolutely thrilled to be staying on for another year with Port Adelaide. I love this club and feel like I still have more to give. I never considered going elsewhere to continue my career.”

Having played 371 career games, Boak is on track to join the elite group of players who have achieved 400 AFL games, potentially placing him among the top ten for most games played should he play through the 2025 season. “I felt I did still have my speed and ability to impact,” Boak remarked, reflecting on his decision to continue.

Port Adelaide’s list manager, Jason Cripps, highlighted Boak’s continued importance to the team, stating, “For many years, Travis has been a hugely important part of our playing group, both on and off the field. His preparation is second to none, which speaks to the longevity of his career.”

The club is undergoing significant changes in its roster, with notable retirements including Charlie Dixon and Trent McKenzie, while adding key players such as Jack Lukosius from Gold Coast and Joe Richards from Collingwood.
