Travis Etienne Jr. Unlikely to Play for Jaguars Against Packers Due to Hamstring Injury
Jacksonville Jaguars running back Travis Etienne Jr. is considered a long-shot to play in Sunday’s Week 8 contest against the Green Bay Packers due to a lingering hamstring injury. According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Etienne’s chances of playing are slim, marking what would be his second consecutive game missed.
Etienne initially suffered the hamstring injury during Week 6 against the Chicago Bears, where he played only 11 offensive snaps. He then missed the entire Week 7 game against the New England Patriots. Despite being listed as questionable, his limited participation in practices this week indicates that he is not yet fully recovered.
In Etienne’s absence, Tank Bigsby is expected to lead the Jaguars’ backfield again. Bigsby had a standout performance last Sunday, rushing for 118 yards and two touchdowns against the Patriots. His role is likely to continue as the primary running back for Jacksonville.
Additionally, the Jaguars have made other roster adjustments in preparation for the game. Linebacker Foyesade Oluokun, who has been dealing with a foot injury, was activated from injured reserve and is questionable for Sunday’s game. Tight end Evan Engram, who also has a hamstring issue, was a full participant in Thursday’s practice, indicating a better chance of him playing.
