GREEN BAY, Wis. – Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter is set to be a top draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, just 11 days away. The dual-threat athlete, who played wide receiver and cornerback at the University of Colorado, is anticipated to become a prominent face in the league in the coming years.

Mock drafts frequently project Hunter landing with the New York Giants at the number three overall pick. Longtime Giants beat writer Paul Schwartz reported that the team views Hunter primarily as a cornerback, despite his extensive skill set on offense. This versatility makes him an attractive option for teams looking to enhance their rosters.

As anticipation builds for the draft, Hunter has been active off the football field, showcasing his athletic ability with the Savannah Bananas, a baseball team famous for its entertaining antics. During a recent game, Hunter threw out the first pitch and joined the team in a choreographed celebration after they secured a dramatic win, further demonstrating his all-around talent.

Hunter expressed his eagerness to excel in the NFL, stating, “They want to see how much I can handle, and it’s up to me at this point. It’s just me being me.” His confidence is evident as he prepares to transition into professional football.

At Colorado, Hunter was recognized as a lockdown corner, while also showcasing exceptional ball skills as a receiver. However, some question whether he can balance full-time roles on both sides of the ball in the NFL. Managing time across multiple meetings and the physical demands of the game are among the challenges he will face.

“I think I just need to see if my body will allow me to take all of this and continue to take all this,” Hunter said. “But I do a lot of treatment, so I’m able to keep up with my body and with what I need for my body.”

As the draft approaches, there’s no doubt that whichever team selects Hunter is getting a player with the potential for greatness. His unique skill set may well define a new era in the NFL.
