Trendsetting Tennis Player Ajla Tomljanovic Shines in Original Penguin Design at Roland Garros
Ajla Tomljanovic’s appearance at the prestigious Roland Garros tournament turned heads not only for her tennis skills but also for her vibrant on-court ensemble, showcasing a stunning new design from heritage athleisure brand Original Penguin.
Traditionally recognized in golf circles, Original Penguin made its foray into the realm of tennis in recent years, signing top players like Ajla Tomljanovic, Mackenzie McDonald, and Jodie Burrage to its roster.
CEO of Perry Ellis International, Oscar Feldenkreis, emphasized that the brand saw an opportunity to merge its classic style with the dynamic world of tennis, with Tomljanovic playing a pivotal role in identifying and embracing new fashion trends for the brand.
Tomljanovic’s striking outfit at Roland Garros, featuring a geometric print in royal blue, white, and hot pink hues, captured attention as she faced off against formidable opponent Dayana Yastremska on Court 14.
The outfit, crafted from eco-conscious recycled polyester, boasted moisture-wicking properties and stretch capabilities, providing both style and performance on the court.
Completing her look with a matching blue visor and Wilson’s peachy pink Rush Pro shoes, Tomljanovic exemplified elegance and athleticism during her match, despite a challenging three-set battle that ended in a loss to Yastremska.
Aside from her on-court style, Tomljanovic’s unique training gear, including weighted apparel from TomboyX, has also garnered attention in the tennis world, with the player attributing it to enhancing her fitness and performance levels.
While her singles campaign may have ended at Roland Garros, Tomljanovic is set to return to the court for women’s doubles alongside partner Daria Saville, where they will face No. 16 seeds Miyu Kato and Nadiia Kichenok in their next match.
