In a statement, Tagovailoa expressed his pride in highlighting the pillars of Polynesian culture, including faith, family, hard work, and mentorship. “We have a rich heritage of success in football. I’m grateful for the legends who paved the way, inspiring us current NFL players to believe our dreams were possible,” he said.

Joining Tagovailoa in the documentary are NFL stars such as Penei Sewell of the Detroit Lions, Puka Nacua of the Los Angeles Rams, Jonah Savaiinaea, an Arizona offensive lineman and NFL Draft prospect, and Chris Henry Jr., a heralded prep athlete from California.

Tagovailoa notes the film aims to inspire the next generation of Polynesian athletes. “I hope football fans will find it inspirational,” he added. The documentary highlights the significant contributions of Polynesian athletes to football, featuring their personal narratives and the community influence of their success.

Barry Nugent, Vice President of Development and Original Programming for FOX Sports, emphasized the importance of Tagovailoa’s collaboration on the project. “FOX Sports is honored to partner with Tua Tagovailoa to celebrate the incredible Polynesian athletes who have made an indelible mark on the sport of football,” Nugent said. “The film is a powerful celebration of faith, pride, perseverance, and heart, furthering our commitment to telling impactful stories that resonate beyond the game.”

Corporate sponsors for the documentary include Gillette, which has provided a grant to support the athletic program at Kahuku High School in Hawaii, aiding young athletes in their development.

The film combines archival footage, personal stories, and discussions around the cultural significance of Polynesian success in football. It provides a raw and intimate look at how heritage fuels performance and community impact.
