Minnesota Twins Vs Cleveland Guardians Baseball

Minneapolis, MN — The Minnesota Twins are set to host the Cleveland Guardians for a three-game series starting Monday evening. The Twins come into the matchup after having their 13-game win streak snapped on Sunday against the Milwaukee Brewers.

Before the game, KSTP Sports spoke with several players, including outfielders Harrison Bader and Matt Wallner, reliever Cole Sands, and catcher Christian Vazquez. Wallner is expected to start a rehab assignment with the St. Paul Saints on Wednesday as he recovers from a Grade 3 left hamstring strain that placed him on the 10-day injured list in mid-April.

The game kicks off at 6:40 p.m., with Guardians pitcher Logan Allen (2-2, 3.70 ERA) facing off against Twins starter Bailey Ober (4-1, 3.72 ERA). The Twins currently hold a 26-21 record overall, including an impressive 15-6 at home, and boast the second-best ERA in the American League at 3.20.

The Guardians sit at 25-21 and are third in the AL Central, with an 11-13 record on the road. Cleveland has excelled when scoring five or more runs, winning 17 out of those games. This matchup marks the fifth meeting of the season between these two teams, with the Guardians leading the series 3-1.

In terms of player performance, the Twins’ Trevor Larnach stands out with six doubles, a triple, and seven home runs this season. Byron Buxton has been productive recently, going 9 for 35 with 10 RBIs over the last 10 games. On the other side, Steven Kwan leads the Guardians with a .311 batting average, while Jose Ramirez has contributed significantly with four home runs over the past 10 games.

In their last 10 games, the Twins have posted a remarkable 9-1 record, showcasing a .260 batting average and a strong 2.20 ERA, while outscoring their opponents by 23 runs. Conversely, the Guardians have struggled somewhat, with a 4-6 record and a .218 batting average, having been outscored by four runs during that stretch.
