Twins Home Opener Excites Fans Amidst Mixed Weather Forecast

Date: Minneapolis, Minnesota — The Minnesota Twins are set to kick off their home season today at Target Field against the Houston Astros. First pitch is scheduled for 3:10 p.m., following festivities that began early this morning.
As fans gather for the opening day, they can enjoy a complimentary breakfast on the plaza until 9 a.m. Gates will open at 1 p.m., and the first 10,000 attendees will receive a Twin City Connect beanie. Chief Meteorologist Ken Barlow predicts cloudy skies and cool temperatures in the mid-40s for the afternoon, with no rain or snow expected.
Parking has been updated for this season, with fans advised to prepay if using the A, B, C, or Hawthorne ramps, a policy that took effect on March 28. The ceremonial first pitch will be made by Nelson Cruz, accompanied by a performance of the Star-Spangled Banner by the cast of the Chanhassen Dinner Theatres’ production of “Grease.”
After a recent victory over the Chicago White Sox, the Twins (2-4) hope to build momentum against the Astros, who just suffered a three-game sweep at the hands of the San Francisco Giants. Barlow noted in his morning forecast: “It will be a cloudy and cool day, perfect for baseball.”
In another season debut, Target Field introduces the MLB Go-Ahead Entry System, allowing fans to ease their entry by registering and uploading a photo through the MLB app.
This season also brings exciting food options for fans, as Target Field has renovated concession areas at sections 105 and 109. The new open-air, self-serve market has increased the number of registers from 29 to 41, improving service efficiency.
For fans unable to attend, the Twins provide streaming options through Twins.TV and other services such as Fubo, Hulu, Sling TV, and YouTube TV, with plans starting at $19.99 monthly. Complete coverage and updates are provided by KSTP Sports.
