Two Teenagers Charged With Murder Following Death Of Melbourne Doctor Ash Gordon

Two teenagers have been charged with murder following the death of a respected doctor in Melbourne‘s eastern suburbs. The victim, Ash Gordon, was found severely injured on Eildon Street, Doncaster early on Saturday morning. Less than a kilometer from his home on Sargent Street, an aggravated burglary had taken place. Victoria Police announced that two 16-year-old boys have been arrested in connection with the incident and have been charged with murder, aggravated burglary, and theft.

The Serious Crime Division Superintendent, Janet Stevenson, assured ongoing support for Dr. Gordon’s grieving family during this devastating time. She stated, “We understand that Ash’s loved ones are in deep sorrow. While this arrest cannot undo the tragedy, we hope it brings some relief to their distress.”

Dr. Gordon’s sister, Natalie Gordon, shared her heartfelt tribute to her brother. She described him as an exceptional doctor who was highly regarded by his patients and colleagues. Natalie recalled their last conversation, where Ash had finished work and was heading home before returning to work the next morning. Unfortunately, he was awoken by intruders, and upon alerting his flatmate and friend, Tristen Standing, to call the police, he pursued the intruders in his car.

Supt. Stevenson acknowledged the impact of such incidents on the community and emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety and security. “These events generate fear and uncertainty, and we want people to feel safe in their homes. We will continue to do everything possible to ensure this.”

The two teenagers will appear before the Children's Court at a later date to face the charges against them. The news of Dr. Gordon’s tragic death has left the community shocked and saddened, as he was known for his caring nature and dedication to his profession.
