UCF and Colorado Clash Amidst Streaking Struggles

Basketball Game Ucf Knights Vs Colorado Buffaloes

BOULDER, Colo. — The UCF Knights will battle the Colorado Buffaloes Saturday afternoon at CU Events Center, with both teams eager to snap lengthy losing streaks. UCF, currently 13-11 overall and 4-9 in conference play, seeks redemption after losing its last five games, while Colorado, at 9-15 and still winless in the Big 12 at 0-13, is desperate for a conference victory.

UCF’s prolonged struggle has significantly dimmed its NCAA Tournament hopes. The Knights have not faced a six-game slump since the 2015-16 season. They previously edged Colorado 75-74 in their earlier matchup on January 8 in Orlando, a narrow victory that UCF hopes to replicate.

“We need to find a way to win,” said UCF Head Coach Johnny Dawkins. “Losing is never easy, and it can create doubt. We have to stay focused and believe in ourselves.”

On the opposite bench, Colorado is still searching for its first conference win since rejoining the Big 12, currently facing a staggering run of 13 consecutive losses. The Buffaloes have been outscored in their last four games by double-digit margins, raising serious questions about their ability to compete at this level.

“We’re trying to get better every day. Right now, we’re not getting the results we want, but I believe we can turn this around,” said Colorado Head Coach Tad Boyle.

The game is scheduled to tip off at 3 p.m. MT and will be broadcast on ESPN. Commentators Lowell Galindo and Jess Settles will provide live coverage from the arena.

UCF is also reeling from a string of defeats, having dropped three consecutive road contests against top-tier teams like Iowa State, Kansas, and Baylor. The Knights will need to put forth a strong effort to overcome their recent struggles.

According to odds released by sportsbooks, UCF is slightly favored, with a line of UCF by ½ and an over/under total at 153½ points.

As the game approaches, both teams are aiming to reignite their seasons. For UCF, it’s about holding onto aspirations for an at-large NCAA berth, while Colorado seeks a spark to build on as they continue their rebuilding phase in the Big 12.
