Ucf Knights Vs Houston Cougars Basketball Game

TEMPE, Ariz. — The UCF Knights made a strong impression during their first Big 12 road trip, splitting their two-game excursion with a decisive victory over Arizona State. Keyshawn Hall led the charge, scoring 40 points in a 95-89 win, marking the Knights’ second Big 12 road victory this season.

UCF (12-4, 3-2) showcased their potential as contenders, outrebounding Arizona State 42-41 and securing a season-high 22 offensive rebounds. “They kicked our ass on the glass. I mean, kicked our ass,” Arizona State coach Tommy Lloyd admitted. “Kick ass. Relentless.”

Hall, a 6-foot-7 transfer from George Mason, was unstoppable, scoring 29 of UCF’s first 41 points and finishing 13 of 18 from the floor. He also made all 10 free throws and dished out six assists. “He’s a three-level scorer,” UCF coach Johnny Dawkins said. “He stepped up when we needed it the most.”

Senior point guard Darius Johnson provided crucial support, contributing 17 points and seven assists. “Keyshawn held us up the whole game,” Johnson said. “I just wanted to give him a little bit of relief.”

The Knights now turn their attention to No. 10 Houston (13-3, 5-0), who bring a nine-game winning streak into Saturday’s matchup at Addition Financial Arena. Houston leads Division I in scoring defense and field-goal percentage defense, setting the stage for a high-stakes clash.

UCF’s recent form has been impressive, with eight wins in their last ten games. However, Houston has dominated the series, winning nine of the last ten matchups. The Cougars are favored by 13.5 points, but UCF’s home-court advantage could prove pivotal.

“We are playing together,” Hall said. “We’re not the best we can be, but we are getting there.” The Knights will need to be at their best to overcome Houston’s formidable defense and extend their winning momentum.
