No. 4 UConn Hosts No. 22 Michigan State in Exhibition Showdown
HARTFORD, Conn. — The No. 4 University of Connecticut men’s basketball team will face the No. 22 Michigan State Spartans in an exhibition game on Tuesday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. The game will take place at PeoplesBank Arena and will air live on WFSB Channel 3, with streaming available on UConn+ for a fee of $7.99.
Both the Spartans and Huskies are coming off exhibition victories. UConn won 71-52 against Boston College on Oct. 13, while Michigan State defeated Bowling Green 75-66 on Oct. 23. The contest will serve as the conclusion of the preseason slate for both teams.
This exhibition game will not be counted in the all-time series record, which stands at four wins apiece since the teams first met during the 1998-99 season. Notably, each team has won on its home floor in the past meetings that led to national championships.
UConn is looking to build on its momentum after being honored with multiple BIG EAST Preseason awards, including First Team selections for Alex Karaban and Solo Ball. In their last game, Karaban led with 17 points and 11 rebounds, despite struggling with shooting efficiency.
Michigan State’s Coen Carr also shined in their previous matchup, scoring 17 points. Center Jaxon Kohler contributed a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. The Spartans will rely on their depth and experience as they prepare for the upcoming regular season.
This game will showcase two teams with strong basketball traditions and will provide both programs an opportunity to fine-tune their rosters before the regular season begins next week.
