D.c. United Vs New England Revolution Soccer

WASHINGTON, D.C. — D.C. United will host the New England Revolution Wednesday night at Audi Field, with both teams vying for crucial points in the MLS playoff race.

The match is set to kick off at 7:30 p.m. ET, with the Eagles struggling for form, currently sitting 13th in the Eastern Conference. They have only two wins in their last ten league games and suffered a 2-0 defeat against the New York Red Bulls on Sunday, marking their fourth consecutive match without scoring.

“We need to find a way to break this rut and rediscover our attacking rhythm,” said head coach Troy Lesesne. “It’s a critical time for us, and we need to put points on the board.”

D.C. United’s scoring woes have seen them drop further from playoff contention, now seven points behind the ninth-place Red Bulls. Despite their struggles, they have shown resilience at home, losing only one of their last five matches across all competitions.

New England, meanwhile, comes into the game after a 3-3 draw against Sporting Kansas City, stabilizing after a winless streak but still seeking consistency. Sitting 10th with 19 points, a victory against D.C. could propel them back into playoff contention, with the team unbeaten in their last six road matches.

<p“Every match is important as we look to solidify our playoff position,” said Revolution coach Bruce Arena. “We have confidence on the road and hope to build on our recent outings.”

In news for the lineups, D.C. United’s star striker Christian Benteke remains a doubt due to an ankle injury. The potential absence would require a reshuffle in the attack, possibly featuring Hosea Kijima as a forward.

The Revolution are also facing injury concerns but expect to field a strong lineup featuring Carles Gil in an attacking midfield role, providing support to forwards Emmanuel Boateng and Thomas Chancalay.

Both teams have a lot at stake as they seek to improve their standings. A win for D.C. could be just what they need to spark a turnaround, while New England aims to maintain their upward momentum as the playoffs approach.

This pivotal clash will set the tone for both teams as they continue to navigate the challenges of the 2025 MLS season.
