University of San Francisco Dons Men’s Basketball Team Off to Strong Start in 2024-25 Season
The University of San Francisco Dons men’s basketball team is making a notable impact in the 2024-25 NCAA Division I men’s basketball season. Led by third-year head coach Chris Gerlufsen, the team has been performing well in their early games.
As of December 12, 2024, the Dons have secured several victories, including wins against Long Beach State, Chicago State, and Mercyhurst. Notable performances include a 84-54 win over Long Beach State on November 13, an 82-37 victory against Chicago State on November 16, and an 87-59 win over Mercyhurst on December 1.
The team has also participated in the Sunshine Slam, where they lost to Memphis and Clemson but rebounded with a win against Fordham in the consolation game. Recent victories include a 78-61 win over Saint Louis on December 5 and a strong showing against various opponents in their home games at the Sobrato Center in San Francisco.
The Dons are set to continue their season with upcoming games against Loyola Chicago, Bradley, and Montana, among others. Their West Coast Conference (WCC) regular season schedule begins on December 28 with a game against Loyola Marymount.
