UNLV Rebels Extend Road Streak, Set to Face UNR in Season Finale
The UNLV Rebels continued their impressive road performance, securing a historic 6-0 road record with a 27-16 victory over San Jose State on Friday night. Despite the challenging weather conditions, the Rebels, ranked No. 23/23, managed to overcome the rain and a soaked crowd of 13,671 at CEFCU Stadium. This win marked their first victory at San Jose State since 1993 and extended their school-record eighth consecutive away game win dating back to last season.
The game was highlighted by the strong performance of sophomore running back Jai’Den Thomas, who rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown on 26 carries. Thomas’s 25-yard sprint to the end zone in the third quarter gave the Rebels a lead they would not relinquish. The Rebel defense was also stellar, allowing just 112 offensive yards to the Spartans, the second-fewest total ever allowed by UNLV in a game.
As the Rebels prepare to close out their regular-season schedule, they will face the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) in a Senior Day home game on November 30. This game will be televised nationally on CBS Sports Network and marks an important finale before potentially heading into postseason play.
UNR, meanwhile, recently hosted Air Force for their Senior Day and Native American Heritage Game, which was televised on FS1. The Wolf Pack’s upcoming game against UNLV will be crucial as both teams look to end their regular seasons on a high note.
