FLINT, Mich. – Harmeet Singh showcased his bowling prowess, claiming six wickets as the USA defeated Nepal by 106 runs in the ICC World Cup League Two tournament.

Batting first, the USA set a competitive total of 263 runs, led by Smit Patel’s impressive 75 runs and Milind Kumar’s unbeaten 70. Nepal struggled in their run chase, collapsing to just 156 runs against a relentless USA bowling attack.

Harmeet’s career-best figures of 6 for 26 dismantled Nepal’s batting lineup, which never found its footing on a pitch offering little assistance to spinners. Despite a solid partnership earlier between Smit and Sai Teja Mukkamalla, who formed a 95-run third-wicket stand, momentum shifted quickly after Smit was run out.

Milind Kumar helped stabilize the innings before adding crucial runs alongside debutant Shubham Ranjane, who contributed to a vital 56-run partnership for the sixth wicket. Milind’s innings, full of finesse and power, culminated with a six, ensuring the USA reached a formidable score.

The USA openers faced early pressure from Nepal’s bowlers, Karan KC and Sompal Kami, but broke free after seven overs. Smit and Andries Gous managed to increase the run rate after a slow start, but Gous fell shortly after an aggressive attempt to regain momentum.

After losing key wickets, including captain Monank Patel, the USA relied on Milind’s composed batting to navigate through the middle overs. He and Ranjane brought stability before Harmeet joined the fray, finishing the innings on a high note.

Nepal’s chase began on a shaky note as debutant Rushil Ugarkar struck early, removing Kushal Bhurtel for a duck. USA’s bowlers continued to apply pressure, and with Harmeet’s subsequent breakthroughs, Nepal found themselves in deep trouble.

As wickets tumbled, Harmeet dominated with a stunning display of bowling, culminating in a precise delivery that led to his final wicket, sealing an emphatic victory for the USA and solidifying their position atop the League Two standings.
