USMNT Roster Set for Concacaf Nations League Semifinals

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The U.S. Men’s National Team (USMNT) has announced its 23-player roster for the upcoming Concacaf Nations League semifinals, highlighting the returns of key midfielder Tyler Adams and forward Gio Reyna. The squad, under the direction of manager Mauricio Pochettino, aims for a fourth consecutive CNL title, set to play on March 20 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles.

The USMNT will report for training in Los Angeles starting March 16, utilizing this competitive opportunity ahead of co-hosting the 2026 FIFA World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico. Pochettino emphasized the significance of this moment, stating, “This is a massive opportunity to win a trophy, and that is our clear objective.”

Adams, the team’s captain during the last World Cup, is making a return after facing injuries, including a back surgery last summer. He has made 18 appearances in the past season, logging 1,167 minutes on the field. Reyna, meanwhile, is looking to rediscover his role in the squad after struggling for playing time at Borussia Dortmund, where he’s made 20 appearances this season.

The roster is predominantly made up of familiar faces. Sixteen players have participated in at least one previous CNL Finals, with six involved in all three iterations. The average age of the roster will be 26 years and 20 days on the first day of training, featuring an average of 28 international caps per player, including 14 in official competitions.

However, the roster faces some challenges, with several players being injured or recently returning from injuries. Notable absences include striker Ricardo Pepi due to a knee injury, opening an opportunity for Norwich City’s Josh Sargent, who has been in prolific form with eight goals in his last eight matches. Also included are a pair of younger strikers, providing depth up front.
