Utah Hockey Club Vs Tampa Bay Lightning Game Highlights

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The Utah Hockey Club showcased their offense in a high-scoring battle, defeating the Tampa Bay Lightning 6-4 on Saturday. The victory was powered by standout performances from Logan Cooley and Alexander Kerfoot, who each scored two goals.

Cooley, who also contributed an assist, helped secure the win, which was pivotal as the regular season enters its final month. Josh Doan and Nick Schmaltz added to the score sheet, while goaltender Karel Vejmelka made 22 saves to protect the net.

“It felt great out there, and my teammates really helped set me up for those goals,” said Cooley. “We needed this win to keep our momentum going as we approach the playoffs. It’s all about building confidence now.”

For the Lightning, the loss was another hit in what has been a challenging season. Despite the defeat, Jamal Murray led Tampa Bay with two goals, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Utah offense.

The game was marked by back-and-forth scoring, as both teams exchanged leads throughout. Utah’s win comes at a critical juncture, as they continue to fight for a favorable playoff position.

“We know every point matters at this stage of the season,” said Utah head coach. “This was a hard-fought win, and we need to keep this intensity going. The guys showed great character and resilience today.”

Following this match, the Utah Hockey Club looks forward to their upcoming game against the Edmonton Oilers, scheduled for Tuesday night, where they hope to maintain their winning streak.
