Utah Hockey Club Faces Off Against Jets in Crucial Night

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — The Utah Hockey Club kicks off an important NHL matchup against the Winnipeg Jets on April 5, 2025, at Delta Center, looking to close the gap in the Western Conference Wild Card race.
With a record of 34-30-12 and 80 points, Utah stands fifth in the Wild Card chase, nine points behind the Minnesota Wild, while the Jets lead the NHL with 108 points thanks to a 52-20-4 record.
Utah’s captain Clayton Keller netted his 26th goal of the season during a recent game against Tampa Bay, leading the team’s offensive efforts. Keller’s first-period goal, assisted by Nick Schmaltz, marked an early lead for the Club. Keller is tied with Dylan Guenther for the team lead in goals.
“We’re focused on taking advantage of our opportunities,” Keller said after the game. “Every point counts as we aim for a playoff spot.”
In their previous meetings this season, the Jets lead the series against Utah 2-1, with Utah winning decisively at home on January 20. However, the Jets recorded victories of 5-2 and 3-0 in their home games, showcasing their strong offensive and defensive play.
The Jets, bolstered by sniper Kyle Connor, who has accumulated 91 points this season, will pose a significant challenge for Utah’s defense. Although the Jets rank second in the league with a power play conversion rate of 29.4%, Utah holds a respectable penalty-killing rate of 81.1%, ranking 10th overall.
For fans wanting to catch the action, the game will be broadcast on NHL Network and streamed through various platforms, including KSL Sports app.
