The Utah Jazz will look to extend their two-game winning streak as they host the struggling Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night at the Delta Center in Salt Lake City. The Hawks, who have lost three consecutive games, are dealing with significant injury concerns, making the Jazz favorites to secure another victory.
Atlanta’s lineup has been weakened by the absence of key players, including Jalen Johnson, who is confirmed to miss the game, and Bogdan Bogdanovic, who remains day-to-day. Despite the presence of Trae Young (22.5 ppg) and Dejounte Murray (19.8 ppg), the Hawks’ offense may struggle against an improving Jazz defense.
Utah’s defense, which has allowed an average of 118.4 points per game this season, has shown signs of improvement recently. Over the past eight games, the Jazz have held opponents to an average of 112.1 points, including three games where they limited teams to 100 points or fewer. This defensive uptick has coincided with a resurgence in their offense, led by Brice Sensabaugh, who scored 34 and 27 points in the team’s last two wins.
Lauri Markkanen (19.3 ppg), John Collins (17.9 ppg), and Collin Sexton (17.7 ppg) provide consistent scoring options for the Jazz, while young center Walker Kessler has been a force on the boards, averaging a double-double with 10.4 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Markkanen, Collins, and Keyonte George, who rested during Sunday’s game, are expected to return to the lineup for Tuesday’s matchup.
With the Hawks’ injury woes and the Jazz’s recent form, Utah is favored to cover the 6.5-point spread. The game tips off at 9:00 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on KJZZ and the FanDuel Sports Network.
