Utah Jazz Trade Kelly Olynyk and Ochai Agbaji to Toronto Raptors for Otto Porter, Kira Lewis Jr., and a 2024 First-Round Pick
The Utah Jazz have made another move ahead of the NBA trade deadline, sending big man Kelly Olynyk and swingman Ochai Agbaji to the Toronto Raptors. In return, the Jazz will receive Otto Porter, Kira Lewis Jr., and a 2024 first-round pick.
ESPN‘s Adrian Wojnarowski reported the trade on Thursday, revealing that the pick will likely be a late first-round selection as it will come from one of the four teams with the best record among Oklahoma City, Houston, L.A. Clippers, and Utah itself. Olynyk, who is on an expiring deal, was expected to be moved, but it comes as a surprise that the Jazz have decided to part ways with Agbaji, who had become a fan favorite due to his athleticism.
Joining the Jazz is Otto Porter, a 30-year-old forward who was a key role player for the Golden State Warriors during their recent championship run. However, Porter has seen limited action this season, appearing in only 15 games for the Raptors. Kira Lewis Jr., who was traded to the Raptors just weeks ago in the Bruce Brown deal, will also be heading to Utah. Lewis has played 15 games for the Pacers and only one for the Raptors since the trade.
The NBA trade deadline is set for 1 p.m. MT, and it remains to be seen if the Jazz will make any more moves before the deadline expires.
