UTSA Roadrunners Face Off Against Rice Owls on Homecoming Night

San Antonio, Texas – The UTSA Roadrunners (2-3) return home for Homecoming festivities Saturday night, hosting the Rice Owls (3-3) in an American Athletic Conference matchup. The game kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET at the Alamodome.
Last week, UTSA’s two-game winning streak ended with a 27-21 loss to Temple. The Roadrunners led at halftime and briefly held a 21-17 advantage in the third quarter before the Owls rallied for the win. Quarterback Owen McCown completed 25 of 37 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns, but he also threw two interceptions. Patrick Overmyer contributed with a rushing touchdown and a receiving touchdown on just three touches.
UTSA has historically dominated its matchups against Rice at the Alamodome, winning five consecutive games there. However, the Roadrunners lost to the Owls on the road last season.
The Rice Owls come into this game with a record of 3-3, having dropped their last game 27-21 against Florida Atlantic, which puts them at 1-2 in the conference. Quinton Jackson was instrumental in that game, scoring a 68-yard touchdown on the first play. He finished with 128 rushing yards on 19 carries, while quarterback Chase Jenkins threw for a touchdown and rushed for another.
This matchup promises to be an exciting clash between the two Texas teams. Fans can catch all the action live on ESPNU.
